Barry Hessenius

Barry Hessenius is the former director of the California Arts Council, former President and CEO of California Assembly of Local Arts Agencies and former Executive Director for Lines Ballet of San Francisco. His former board affiliations include National Association of State Arts Agencies, United Statewide Community Arts Organizations, National Association of Artist Organizations, California Association Arts Educators, California State Summer School for the Arts and as Advisor for the President’s Committee on Arts & Humanities. He is currently on the board of directors of the Architectural Foundation of San Francisco. He is the author of Hardball Lobbying for Nonprofits (2007 MacMillian) and of Barry’s Blog, which offers news, opinion and advice for the arts administrator: www.westaf.org/blog.
